Re: deep sleep and external wake current draw
I think there's another problem somewhere, most likely a floating input or a peripheral that is left on during sleep mode.

Re: Battery Power for EzSBC-ESP32-01
Your results are different from what I got when I tested low voltage operation. It may come down to something easy like long wires between the PSU and the module. These modules draw fast, large current spikes and unless the wires are pretty short you may get enough dip to trigger the brown out behav...

Re: Max Vin voltage
The Cap case size is 0805 and it is an expensive device, I struggle to buy them a reasonable prices. If the input voltage is higher than 7V you can safely change the cap to be 22uF 0805 25V which is much more reasonably priced. I tried using the MCP1703A and it is not a universal solution. I found t...

Customized ESP32 Designs
The majority of the products that I sell are custom board for low to medium volume customers. I offer a customization service where I provide a custom design based on the existing boards with whatever circuitry you may need. It is inexpensive and worth it if you need more than ten boards of the new ...

Revision of the EzSBC1
The EzSBC1 is an old product and I revised the board recently to be easier to manufacture given my current part usage. Here are the changes: Mini USB removed and replaced with a Micro USB connector. FTDI USB to Serial converter replaced by a SiLabs CP2104 converter. 32.768 crystal changed to a small...

International Shipping
The cancellation of many commercial flights have wreaked havoc on international shipping. Shipping to larger countries is slower than usual but not ridiculously slow and final delivery is influenced by the local customs office. If they are under staffed then clearance is slow to very slow with large...

I don't really plan on making boards with additional peripherals on board. I offer a customization service where I provide a custom design based on the boards with whatever circuitry you may need. Re: Disable Builtin LED
There isn't an easy way if you power the board from the USB connector. However, if you power from the Vin pin the LEDs are automatically unpowered but so is the USB to Serial converter. I assumed that powering from the USB connector means that there's ample power available.

SPI on ESP32
I've had a few questions on getting SPI and SD-cards to work. Below is a hookuo for an SD card socket and some code that is well tested. MicroSDCapture.PNG The CardDetect line is not used in the software and needs a pull-up to use. The test code I used initially is /* * Connect the SD card to the fo...

Re: ZIF socket or prototype board for ESP32-01?
There is now a screw terminal board available. It has 40 pins and almost any board that is designed on a 0.1" pitch can be mounted on the board and screw terminals used to connect it to the external world.

It plugs directly into the module and does not touch the main PCB.

Re: Pico fuse to protect reverse power
I actually don't know. The only way to know is to try and that is not very viable if you have to pay for the modules.
If the module dies because of current through the substrate diode in the IC there's a reasonable chance that a fuse can protect the module.

Re: ZIF socket or prototype board for ESP32-01?
This has just got to very high on my To Do list. I won't be able to use a ZIF-socket but I'll make a breakout board with screw terminals. The layout is wider than a 40-pin ZIF-socket. I'll beat the bushes and see what I can dig up.

Re: Newby having connection problems
I'm surprised by the problems you are having. Every board is tested and programmed before it leaves here. Please contact me directly if you continue to experience problems. There is one common issue with USB cables. Many cables that are sold are 'charging cables'. They do not have the D+ and D- cond...
